Text formatting

Will there be a plugin or something that allows text formatting (i.e. bold, italics, underline) through markdown or something? It would be a big help for writing stories (especially nanowrimo!).

I wish I had the time to learn python and write one.

Hi,

we most likely won't be creating a plugin that supports WYSIWYG, but there will be plugins that support formatting filters like markdown to export files to HTML output
