You would have to have:
-python
-gtk (don't know if you woudl need pygtk or whether its included in python/gtk)
-gtksourceview

It would also require a modification of a few bits of code to wipe out any reference to the terminal. You could have a look at "Darkroom" or "JDarkroom" that are both window based alternatives to WriteRoom (which PyRoom is a clone off)

If you want something similar on Windows, the above will do I suppose, but I found a better alternative in Q10. Just search for "q10 text editor" and you should find it. Super lightweight and nice. It is closed source, but free. It seems written by one guy. One caveat is that it hasn't been updated in a while and hopefully hasn't been abandoned. You can download the portable version if you'd like to check it out, you'll see it is lightweight and slick. I do hope it gets updated.

By the way, I just install PyRoom on Jaunty alpha (its first appearance in the repos) and it is slick!! Keep up the good work, and thanks.

Hi,

we're currently on the way to make PyRoom run on Windows (and OSX), too. We've removed gtksourceview dependencies, so it just got a lot easier. Stay tuned!
