PyMQI version, MQ Series 7.1, and Python 2.4.3

Asked by Leonard Berman

We have Python programs written six years ago using Python 2.4.3 and PyMQI 1.0 or PyMQI 1.1 running in a Windows environment. They connect to MQ-Series 5.3.

We need these programs to connect to MQ-Series 7.1.

(1) Do we need to upgrade to PyMQI 1.2?
(2) Is PyMQI 1.2 compatible with Python 2.4.3?
(3) Do you recommend that we upgrade to a more recent version of Python? If so, which version?

Thank you.

Hi Leonard,

> (1) Do we need to upgrade to PyMQI 1.2?

1.2 was meant to be used with MQ 7.0 and it won't work with 7.5, that's
for sure. I'm not certain if it works with 7.1 - you'd need to check it
yourself.

Please use the latest Python 2.7.x version - this is something I use
everywhere.

I plan on adding proper support for all MQ 7.x releases - please let me
know if you can help it happen sooner, see the link below

Cheers!

I've just released PyMQI 1.3 and the development effort has moved to GitHub - https://github.com/dsuch/pymqi

Can you help with this problem?
