Python 2.5.1 requried RHEL version

Asked by Arun

We currently have Python 2.4.2 in RHEL 4.x. Now, we need to upgrade the Python version to 2.5.1 and need to install pymqi 1.2. We want to know which RHEL version supports Python 2.5.1 and pymqi.

Please advise.

Thanks for your time.

Arun

Hi there,

this works the other way around - if you have any system which has
Python 2.5, 2.6 or 2.7 then PyMQI will just work there. It doesn't
matter if it's Solaris, RHEL, z/Linux or Windows.

Cheers!

Hi Arun,

Your best bet is RHEL 6.*. None of the RHEL distributions come with python 2.5.1 (unless you plan to install it manually).
RHEL 5 support python 2.4.3 whilst RHEL 6 does 2.6.6
Check the distro watch here

Hope this helps

I've just released PyMQI 1.3 and the development effort has moved to GitHub - https://github.com/dsuch/pymqi

Can you help with this problem?
