conection problems with Avira virus scanning software

I have installed psiphon last weekend. Unfortunately our computer has no longer 100% protection for viruses. The virus program is not able to update any longer because of a blocked connection to the software provider.

Does anybody know how to deal with this circumstance?
Is there a procedure which allows to set a kind of bypass allowing the daily upgrading?

Hi. This launchpad is for Psiphon 2 - the link rewriting web proxy.

If you are using Psiphon 3, please refer to it's project page here: https://bitbucket.org/psiphon/psiphon-circumvention-system/

Assuming that you are using Psiphon 3, you may not be able to update your antivirus signatures database if you are using VPN mode and if the antivirus software uses a port that is not available through the Psiphon 3 VPN. Some options for you:
- Try turning off Psiphon 3 temporarily to update your virus signature database.
- Try using SSH or SSH+ mode in Psiphon 3 instead.
