Sooo is Psiphon 2.X available for Windows?

Asked by Anonymous

Perhaps my ignorance has merely gotten the better of me, but I'm having a hard time figuring out how to use this for my Windows computer...and with Install saying:

"Psiphon has been tested on the following platforms only:

    Ubuntu - Versions 8.10 and 9.04."

I'm starting to think not...

Hi. We don't run Psiphon 2.X on Windows, and there are currently no installers available to set up Psiphon 2.X on a Windows system. If you don't have a Linux system, the easiest way to run Psiphon 2.X is to install Linux on a Virtual Machine (such as virtualbox - http://www.virtualbox.org/), and then install Psiphon 2.X in that Virtual Machine.

If you are determined to run Psiphon 2.X on Windows, you should be able to install mysql and apache on Windows, build and install the custom Psiphon apache modules, and run the Psiphon php code.

Although it is no longer supported, you can also still download the Windows-based Psiphon 1.6 here:

In case you're not familiar with the system, it should be mentioned that Psiphon *users* don't need to install anything, so they can use any operating system with a web browser. (The operating system requirement is for where the Psiphon server runs.)

Can you help with this problem?
