Missing view channel_editions_archive. Error on main page and it will not work as it finds nothing to print out on main page.?

Asked by theporterman

On any menu button on the front page like NEWS I get this error and nothing shows up. Missing view channel_editions_archive. I have no idea what it means is there a fix for this. most everything seems to work except edition manager all I get there is a white page. I installed the full demo. It's like it cant find anything to post to the frontpage from any source. http://www.isiok.com

Hi,

You most probably have a corrupted file system. That error message usually indicates a file .../profiles/prosepoint/modules/prosepoint/prosepoint_channel/views/channel_editions_archive.view is missing or corrupted.

A similar problem experienced by someone else is described at https://answers.launchpad.net/prosepoint/+question/49068.

What software did you use to uncompress the ProsePoint software package?

You were correct by thinking it was bad files. I was using winace to uncompress ProsePoint and it messed up and renamed many files. I found a program called 7- zip and it worked fine. I also found that using firefox fireftp to transfer files that it missed some, or more than some?. After a complete reinstall all worked well. Knowing what software to use would be so helpful and save many hours and in my case many days. Thanks for the help. Now if I can figure out how to get static images on the site I will be cooking. If you have any thoughts on putting images on the right and left side of the site I would thank you yet again. I'm reading all I can just no luck on this part yet. Thank you again.

Apologies for the lack of good documentation. It's all a work in progress.

There is more than one way to do this.

The simplest is to go to Administer // Site building // Blocks // Add Block, create a block (use the visual editor to insert an image), and then goto Administer // Site building // Blocks to arrange the new block as you like.

Try it and let me know if you have any problems.

Thank you.
