Total newbee, need help getting frontpage looking right

Asked by Gabe Brown

I am brand new to Prose Point. I just installed it. I am using the customizable version of the default theme. My Front page and the editing page are just a long list. No real images or template at all.

I also ran the updates and it says I need to update some of my modules. I downloaded one and I have no idea where to put the upgrade.

Who can get me on the right track. I have been working with html/css for years and php for the last year. I am a quick study but lack much experience with CMS.

Thanks!

my site is at http://norcaltimes.com/ProsePointRoot/

Hi,

Your/my web browser is having trouble reading the CSS file. That's why your front page is a long list - there is no styling.

Your front page is referencing a css file http://norcaltimes.com/ProsePointRoot/sites/default/files/css/40b9e6fb1992316c3341ad4609e6b08f.css but when I visit it, I get 403 forbidden. Please check your web server setup and log files.

Re: Updates: Please see http://www.prosepoint.org/frequently-asked-questions and http://www.prosepoint.org/docs/upgrading-prosepoint.html.

There is usually no need to update modules individually. Unless there is something special you want, you can just wait for new ProsePoint releases. These will include module updates.

OK, went in and checked the server settings and the css folder needed one more write permission checked. Thanks!
