Portable GIS renames your hard drive

If you install Portable GIS onto the hard drive of your pc, it might rename it "Portable GIS" and change the icon. To avoid this, delete the autorun.inf file, and rename the hard drive in "My Computer". After a reboot it should be back to normal.
