shorter notification Intervall for imap accounts?

Asked by Sylvio

I really like popper.

But it would be better to have a shorter (or none) intervall for notify on new messages.

At least for imap accounts (gmail) you always have to wait 1 minute (shortest intervall) until popper recognizes already read mails.

Is it possible to implement this function?

Hello Sylvio,

> I really like popper.
Thank you very much.

Can you please specify your use case. You are notified about incoming mail(s) at your gmail imap account. What are you doing then? How do you read your mails / mark them as already read?

Yes, I am notified of incoming mails (imap). There are no problems.

I then use Thunderbird to read my mails (imap). But sometimes those mails are not very interesting and I mark them only as read.

And this is the time popper does not recognize this in real-time (although its using imap). I have to wait one minute until this mail gets marked as read in popper. This can get irritating when receiving a lot of mails.

(If you dont understand my words I can write in german ;) )

No thanks, let's continue in english. I hope my english is better than a translated text from german if someone who doesn't speak german reads our dialog ;-).

In your use case we recommend launching Thunderbird via click on the headline and checking the option "remove emails from list by clicking on the headline". Both can be configured via Popper Configurator -> tab "indicator". Please read also our help in the Configurator.

Real-time recognition will not be implemented (in nearest future) because Popper isn't a Programm to handle Emails but to notify about new Emails. The shortest interval of one minute won't be changed either (in nearest future) because of stability reasons (possible race conditions).

Thank you anyway for questioning and with that trying to improve Popper. Feel free to ask if i did get you wrong or ask again if you've got other questions and/or suggestions.
