gnome-keyring support

Asked by Bhabba

I really appreciate your work and consider popper as a very smart email notification solution.

I just wanted to know if you're gonna implement gnome-keyring support in future releases (especially as popper doesn't encrypt the passwords...)

Thanks a lot! But you didn't implement it just because of my question, right? ^^

Anyway, keep the good work up!

I don't know whether my question relates to the topic. I use version 0.23. After Ubuntu starts Popper asks for password: "Keyring is locked, please enter password". Is this a bug or I did something wrong?

Most likely you set up Ubuntu to log you in automatically – thus your gnome-keyring is still locked when popper starts and it asks for the pass phrase to unlock it (since version 0.23 popper stores the passwords for your email accounts in the gnome-keyring). This is normal behavior and no bug. If you like to forego the protection of your passwords/keys stored in the gnome-keyring you can tell it to be unencrypted by setting an empty pass phrase – this way you won't be bothered by password pop-ups anymore. Of course, this isn't recommended for obvious security reasons...
