Why doesn't Polly use the system proxy settings in Ubuntu

I have tried to use Polly but I am behind a proxy. Polly did not use the proxy setup in Ubuntu (even though install from ppa). It also did not keep the proxy settings I set in preferences after quiting. It also doesn't seem to be using the proxy even when I set it.

The PPA is just an install method and in no way related to whether related to whether Ubuntu settings are used or not.

As for the proxy settings not working or being kept, this is a bug report, not really a question. Please file a report.
