Context not shown for most tweets

Asked by Kevin Arnold

I searched but didn't see if this had already been mentioned. Most tweets don't have the context balloon even though twitter.com does show the rest of the context.

Example: Click a tweet on twitter.com and it opens up the initial question and all of the replies to that tweet, but that same tweet doesn't have the context icon available in Polly.

I'm just curious about this, it isn't a big deal to me.

I cannot show the replies to a tweet because Twitter does not provide an API for that. I can only show the previous tweets ("replied to"), and that's what the Context column does. Since not all tweets are replies, the balloon does not always appear.

If a client allows you to view replies, I'm going to assume it's either an official Twitter partner or uses some sort of server caching. I'm not the former, and do not have the resources for the latter.

Can you help with this problem?
