Using "Clear this stream"

Asked by cgarvey

Firstly, I just started using Polly, am really liking the work so far, well done!

Secondly, my work-flow is to leave Polly running, and check some of the many columns (generally Twitter Lists) I have every half hour or so. I right-click the column header and choose "Clear this stream" as a means of easily seeing what Tweets are new (when I go back a few minutes later). Think of it as a type of Inbox-0 workflow!

This works well, until I restart Polly. On restart, the columns/streams don't remember what was previously "cleared". Is that normal/expected behaviour? I'm running v0.93.6 (installed from the Unstable PPA) on Ubuntu 12.04. If so, what is the purpose of "Clear this stream"? If not, I'm happy to file a bug report.

Thirdly, what would be awesome and would save me minutes every day is a keyboard shortcut to execute "Clear this stream" on all columns. Or, if it's a compromise, a keyboard shortcut to "Clear this stream" on the current column.

Thanks again for a great client.

You're not the first user to ask me about this. Polly is going through a major rewrite right now, and I will probably include a mechanism to remember clearing as part of said rewrite.

Can you help with this problem?
