Only show mention and DM in notification?

Asked by Kristian Fiskerstrand

Hi,

First of all, thanks for a decent twitter client for GNU/Linux. Overall I'm very happy with it, however I have a question regarding the Notification settings.

I'm using the default ubuntu install and notification is working as it should. However I have a question;

Currently, in Preference->Notification I see the options:
 * Never show notification bubble
 * Show notification for messages
 * Show .... for messages and mentions
 * ... everything except retweets
 * Always show notifications

Is there a possibity to only get notifications for mentions and DMs? (if not, I propose this as an RFE)

Hi Kristian, thanks for the support.

What I call "messages" are DMs, so you want the third option.

I might change the text in the future to avoid this kind of confusion, but frankly I never understood why Twitter calls it "direct messages" if there are no other type of messages. (other things are called "tweets", "mentions", "replies", etc.)

Ah, that clearifies a few things, thanks. And I recon that I've confused the notification a bit, as it indeed only show a bubble in those cases. But in that case I have a follow-up question. Is it possible to not register the stream @account>Home to show up in the notification with a message unread (in my case blue envelope)? Otherwise this will be a constant blue for me, hence reducing the purpose of the unread a bit :)

Plase disregard my latest comment. Seems it is indeed acting that way, and it is indeed my email (thunderbird) causing the constant blue :)
