Global Hotkeys

Asked by Decomp

Hello, are there global hotkeys, or any way to implement them? If not how do I go about making a feature request?

There is currently no way to set global hotkeys. You can use the normal
media keys on your keyboard though. These can be assigned with the
gnome-settings-tool.

I'm afraid then there's cuurently no possibility to use global hotkeys.

I just found decibels 'remote' function - maybe it would work with minimal tweaking on pogo?

Well, maybe. In the not so far future I want to integrate this
functionality into the main program (to avoid having two executables).
When that's done, it's probably possible to assign shortcuts to those
commands.

Probably there's an other tool out there to do global hotkeys if you don't use gnome (or am I missing something?).

Anyway. Just want to say I found out a couple of shortcut keys which seem to work (I know the topic is about changing keys, but I didn't find any wiki or such).

Moving around in the file brouwser: arrow keys
Adding a track or folder: Enter (return) key
Moving around controls: (Shift) Tab key
Volume control: If in playlist window -> left and right arrow keys
Play track: If in playlist window -> Enter (return) key
Pause track: If in playlist window -> spacebar key
Delete playlist artist or track: If in playlist window -> Del key

Maybe I forgotten a couple...

It's strange that if you use the tab key to move around the controls, it's not possible to go to the search bar. Although maybe this is for the better?

Sorry I said something wrong I see now:

"Volume control: If in playlist window -> left and right arrow keys"

It's not volume control, it's going backward and forward in the music track.

Volume control could be done directly with the media keys, I assume (although it doesn't work on my laptop with Lubuntu 11.10 for some reason).

Ok sorry, this is also wrong.

Can you help with this problem?
