I deleted people from iHRIS, but the position still remains

The deleting data module sound very useful, it seems there are challenges. This module was used to delete data in Zanzibar, however, it seems the positions were not deleted. Hence, there are currently over 500 positions which were not assigned to anyone but they are closed.

Once you determine which positions are affected, there are two possible solutions:

1) Go into "Administer Database" and search for the positions that you want to remove. Mark them as hidden and they will no longer appear

2) Rerun the delete record script, but put in postion|XXXXX, where XXXX is the id of the position you want to delete, as the main record you want to delete from.

In the future use of delete record, you can avoid this step. The delete record script is designed so that it will ask you if you want to delete any positions that are associated to a person.
