Cannot click on dock icons when active window is open behind it

Asked by Kevin K

I'm using Manjaro KDE, and I cannot open, minimize, or bring up any of the items on the dock when there is an active window open behind it. It does not matter whether the window is maximized, full-screen, half-screen, or not maximized. This happens anytime I use the Hide Dock feature in any of its variations; the dock will unhide itself and zoom at the cursor like normal, but I cannot click on any of the items, though I can drag and rearrange the icons sometimes. It does not happen when I turn off the Hide Dock feature. This also was not happening prior to my fresh distro reinstall, so I don't know whether it's a kernel update or a plank update that caused this. I am able to click on an item with the active window behind the dock if I hold right click and then left click (this will cause a left click) or if I hold left click and right click (causes a right click). I just want to go back to where I can bring up the dock and left click to open a new app like before.
