Docklet Widgets

Is it possible to add more Docklet Widgets? the selection of Docklet Widgets seems rather limited, and can't see any other way to being able to add or download new widgets to use with the dock. You have docklets for Applications, Battery, Clippy, Clock, CPU Monitor, Desktop and Trash, if there's any way for me to make my own docklets to use with Plank and be able to add it to the list of stuff? I was hoping to be able to add my own Docklet for Network Monitoring.
