Keep dock on the shorter edge of screen

Is there a way to keep Plank dock always on the shorter edge of the screen? I'm using Plank on a touch screen and I often switch from landscape to portrait orientation and vice versa. I would like Plank to stay on the shorter edge, for example:

- When in landscape mode, on the left;
- When in portrait mode, at the bottom.
