How to show Plank while using fullscreen applications

I am running on Gnome. When I put any application in fullscreen mode (not just maximizing), I am no longer able to get plank to show by moving my mouse pointer to the bottom of the screen. Is it not possible to have plank also show (overlay) in fullscreen applications?
