Where can I find a tutorial to write a custom docklet?

Asked by Marcelo Rodovalho

I'm trying to understand the dockelts behavior, coz I want to write a custom docklet to simulate the same behavior present in the mostly dockers, the "Folder Launcher", like in MacOS, Rocklet and others.

Ex2: https://github.com/celorodovalho/PlankFolderLauncher
Ex3: https://qw3rtz.deviantart.com/art/Elementary-OS-Plank-folder-mockup-309315934

I dont want to reinvents like I did here (https://github.com/celorodovalho/PlankFolderLauncher) but instead I want to use functions from libplank in a native way to be appropriated.
Something like "Launcher=docklet://folderlauncher /path/to/folder/"

Any suggestions?

Unfortunately there is no tutorial. So you will have to look at the existing docklets for e.g. how to add instance-specific settings to the dockitem file.

Regarding stacks I just revived and pushed an old proof-of-concept code: https://git.launchpad.net/plank/commit/?h=wip/stack

Can you help with this problem?
