Editing themes using dock.theme file doesn't work

I want to reduce item padding in plank dock. Editing ~/.config/plank/dock1/themes-repo/Themes/Numix/dock.theme doesn't work or update the dock. I'am using plank version 0.11.2.1566

I solved it. For some reason installing themes in the above location as specified in http://rhoconlinux.github.io/plank-themer/ , won't have any effect if the dock.theme file is modified. We need to extract the themes here ~/.local/share/plank/themes.
