Icons on dock without putting them on desktop?

Asked by Maciej

Hi,
i find your app very useful, but I've got one important problem.

Is it possible to have my icons placed on the dock, without the necessity to have them already on my desktop?

When I delete the Steam icon from my desktop, it gets deleted from my dock :/
I don't want to have any icons on my desktop, in my opinion it just looks bad on Linux, using only my dock would be more comfortable.

Can you explain me how to set it - or if it's not implemented yet - fix it?
Thanks.

Usually a system-wide installed application installs its own desktop-file to /usr/share/applications/ or in case of an user-specific application it should be placed into ~/.local/share/applications/
Simply drag'n'drop a desktop-file located in these locations to plank or preferably you would launch the application and use the "Keep in dock" option to pin it.

Can you help with this problem?
