Desktop file and App

Hello,
I am Nikos from the elementary OS french community. One of our luna user asked me a question that I 'm not able to answer (I don't find any clue on Launchpad...).

He created a desktop file which launch firefox with multiple websites. He doesn't want that Firefox app (which is in Plank too) got the starting notification but only his desktop file.

I know that you're using libbamf library for such feature, but do you think it's possible, or maybe can you point me to the right direction ?

This is not possible since firefox runs as single instance which gets matched to its main desktop-file.

As a hack one could experiment with changing the StartupWMClass of a certain firefox window (using e.g. xprops) and define the matching one in the custom desktop-file.
