How to add items to plank in Gnome 3 fallback in Fedora?

Asked by Varun Vijayaraghavan

Hello,

I am pretty sure this may not even be supported by you, but I think I managed to compile and Plank on Fedora15 in Gnome3 fallback mode, and so far this seems to be the only dock that actually runs for me on gnome 3.

I can run firefox, evolution and mplayer by clicking which are the default applications on the plank. Launching Plank however gives me the following warning: "[WARN 20:24:42.185082] Failed to fetch paths: The name org.ayatana.bamf was not provided by any .service files."

I would like to know if there is a way to add items to the plank? Drag and drop from the menu and desktop did not work.

Thanks!

Never mind! I edited the files in ~/.config/plank.
I would like to know if there is another way to do this currently, which I am missing out due to one reason or another.
Thanks!

Drag and drop is still in progress. Manual edits are all available at the moment.

Looks like you need to install (and make it is running) BAMF. Otherwise the dock will NOT function properly.

Can you help with this problem?
