Should users report a bug when the pandora version changes?

Asked by Mike Gibson

I noticed that you added a new link to a page that asks users to wait a few hours when a Pandora update breaks Pithos. Would you like users to continue to report a bug when this happens? The wording on the web page implies that someone will notice the change and that a bug report isn't necessary.

Thanks.

I need to update that page; it's mostly just a placeholder.

I will probably notice quickly, both from using Pithos myself, and from the inevitable set of users that will ignore any instructions, but I'm going to add a script that will email me if that page starts getting lots of hits.

The purpose of that page and the new dialog is to give users an (editable) guide on what to do next. Right now, I get several bug reports and lots of email every time it breaks. Many people google the error message, find one of the old bugs, and start posting.

All I need is one new bug report with the version number in the title, which I'll then link from that landing page. I'm trying to make the updates a more orderly process, and the dialog is the first step of that.

So yes, if you check to make sure there isn't already a bug reported, please post one.

Can you help with this problem?
