New (stable) release of pipelight?

It has been 1.5 years since the last stable release of pipelight, but there have been regular commits to the git branch.

For those of us trying to include a pipelight package with our operating systems (FreeBSD in my case), or for those of us who just don't want to use a development version, would it be possible to release a new stable version?
