Unhandled Token class 29

Environment: Ubuntu 14.04 - Firefox 32.0 - Pipelight 0.2.7.1 - Plugin Silverlight 5.1

Hello everyone,

I've folllowed all the installation procedures described at: http://pipelight.net/cms/installation.html#section_2

I've been able to stream videos from Netflix: nice!

However, I'm trying to access a French website to stream live TV: http://live.mycanal.fr
Always the same error: "Impossible d'obtenir la license de ce programme".
When I connect to the same site with the same credentials from firefox in ***Windows 7***, it works flawlessly.

On firefox/ubuntu, I've tried to:
- remove all cookies: same error message
- disable all plugins/add-ons: same error message
- change the user agent string to "Windows - Firefox 29": firefox is blocked
- noticed a recurring error in the log: "err:ntdll:NtQueryInformationToken Unhandled Token Information class 29!"

Any suggestion?

Hi,

your problem is not related to the unhandled token class, but is caused by the Website requiring output protection (for example HDCP). For legal reasons we can not offer this support as it would violate local laws. For more information take a look at https://bugs.launchpad.net/pipelight/+bug/1235918

OK, it seems that the graphic drivers need to be signed by Microsoft, another reason why I dropped all their products.

What is strange is that pipelight works with netflix and not with canal+.

The service provider defines the required copy protection in the license for the video. There are local differences and most of the services do not require any output protection. The services causing trouble are mostly located in France and Spain. I assume that the companies owning the distribution rights in these countries require the VOD services to enable output protection.

Just as a hint: Canal+ won't work in Windows VM either since the graphic driver does not meet the requirements.

As a matter of fact, I was able to stream Canal+ from a Windows 7 VirtualBox VM until very recently (a few weeks ago).
I don't know if the change comes from a stronger Canal+ policy or the new VirtualBox 4.3.16 release...
