Does unity3d works on this page?

Asked by monkeybrain2012

I went to http://game.interstellarmovie.com/ and nothing happened My friend told me that I needed the unity 3d plugin and he has tested in on a mac but I already have the latest pipelight installed. I have unity plugin 4.5.4.31047, Firefox 32 and Ubuntu 14.04. I tested on two machines nothing happened on either (one has intel ironlake gpu, the other has amd 6310, both with open driver)

More info about the game http://www.wired.com/2014/09/interstellar-app/

Thanks.

Hi,

for me the website works fine with Pipelight. Did you follow the instructions to overwrite the platform information in Firefox as described at http://pipelight.net/cms/installation-user-agent.html#section_1_2 ?

Hi, it works now after manually changing the platform value in Firefox by adding new string in about:config from your link. But what does it do? Do I need to change it back if I am not using unity3d? Usually I turn off agent switcher when I don't need it.

Thanks

Hi,

it replaces the value returned by navigator.platform to Win32 (on Linux it is something like "Linux x86_64"). This value is not widely used by websites or other plugins since the returned value is less precise than the operating system description in the user agent string. I wouldn't expect much trouble.
