Netflix going full screen on specific monitor

Asked by John

Hi!

Netflix works well with my ati 6770 / beta drivers on ubuntu 64 bit.
It goes full screen on my secondary display which is usually fine since it's my TV.
But I'd prefer if it would go full screen on the monitor that has the browser window (which is sometimes my monitor not the TV).

Apparently the iis smooth streaming video works fine, maybe it's just netflix.

Is there any way to fix this?

Hi,

there is some synchronization problem between the real position of an embedded window and the position at which the Wine application expects the window to be located. There is now easy solution to this problem as the way how Wine processes window events like re-sizing and moving is quite complex and does not work properly in the embedded case. However, you can try to enforce a synchronization with some types of events. I think resizing the browser is such an event. Silverlight should now go to fullscreen on the correct screen.

The more bulletproof solution is to temporarily disable embedding: Right click on the plugin area, disable "Embed into Browser" and reload the page. You should now get an extra window for the plugin, which should always go to fullscreen on the correct screen.
