Hi,

the reason for this error message is that you use Internet Explorer as a user agent switcher string, although we've explicitly written that this will NOT work, see the beginning of the following FAQ:

https://answers.launchpad.net/pipelight/+faq/2351
( * DO _NOT_ USE INTERNET EXPLORER AS USER AGENT! * )

The reason for this is, that websites (like Netflix) will use different JavaScript depending on the user agent string. With an Internet Explorer user agent the website tries to use ActiveX - but this kind of plugin system is really ONLY available in Microsoft Internet Explorer, and not in the Linux browser you're using.

So basically all you have to do to solve this problem is to select a user agent string, which represents a Windows machine AND uses the same NPAPI plugin system which is also available for Linux. You can choose everything except "Internet Explorer" and it should work:

* Windows version of Firefox
* Windows version of Chrome
* Windows version of Opera
* ...

If you still experience the problem that the page says your operating system is not supported, then just try a few different user agent strings, or use one of the recommendations from the FAQ above.

Regards,
Sebastian

By the way: In previous versions of Pipelight ( < 0.2.6 ) there were further restrictions for the user agent. One combination which also worked well in old versions is for example:

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:15.0) Gecko/20120427 Firefox/15.0a1

Can you help with this problem?
