Swisscom Online TV works on Lenovo T500 but not on Asus AT5IONT-I
Hi
I made a fresh install of Ubuntu 14.04 amd64 on two machines, on my Lenovo Think Pad T500 with Intel GPU (Mobile Intel GM45 Express Chipset) and on my PC based on an Asus AT5IONT-I with onboard GPU (ION/PCIe/EES, proprietary Nvidia drivers "binary" 331.38)
After the installation of pipelight (through ppa pipelight stable), Swisscom Online TV works fine on my T500 (the Swisscom logo shows up for a few seconds, then the tv program guide is shown) but not on my Asus (i get the start screen - the Swisscom logo - but nothing happens (no error message, nothing... logo is still blinking even after one hour).
URL: http://
After the installation of xattr and User Agent Changer (described in https:/
Deleted .wine-pipelight an .mozilla in my home folder - still no luck
Tested with Silverlight 5.0 and 5.1 - same result
I have no other plugins installed (noscript, etc.)
In general, the Silverligt plugin works (http://
Browser: Firefox
When i start firefox from the terminal and i compare the output from the two machines i got the following differences:
Asus AT5IONT-I:
wine: cannot find L"C:\\windows\
err:
and
fixme:
(multiple times)
while the T500 reports:
ixme:wininet:
p11-kit: couldn't load module: /usr/lib/
p11-kit: couldn't load module: /usr/lib/
err:winediag:
err:wininet:
err:wininet:
Does anybody know how to fix this?

Hi,
is it possible that you enabled the optional winninet override on your AT5IONT-I machine? The original wininet version (which is quite old) breaks some websites (while it necessary to fix other ones). In case you did, please execute the following command to get rid of it:
rm -f ~/.config/
rm -rf ~/.wine-pipelight

Hi,
i don't think that i've enabled some wininet override.
i removed the files as you proposed, but unfortunatley it did not work.

Hi,
did you install Pipelight at approximately the same time on both machines?
The reason why I'm asking this is that the wineprefix
($HOME/
which means that you probably still have some old wineprefix on one of your
PCs, if Pipelight was installed before without reformatting the disk
containing the home diretory.
If this could be the reason then try exactly the oposite idea than the one
by Michael - previous version of Pipelight always had wininet preinstalled,
to do that with newer versionf of Pipelight you have to run:
touch ~/.config/
Does it change something (after restarting the browser)?
If not please provide full logs for both of the machines, and also check
one more time, which version of Pipelight and Wine-compholio is installed
on both of your machines. To find out the version you can use:
dpkg --list | grep pipelight
dpkg --list | grep wine-compholio

Hi Sebastian,
I made a fresh install of Ubuntu 14.04 with formatting the hard drive (more or less at the sime time on both machines).
I restored the contents of the home directory, but i do not think that this is a problem because i get the same error when i try to access the site with a new created user.
Here my logs:

Hi,
please try out the following additional ideas:
1) Based on your log you currently have enabled the wininet-override on your ASUS machine, but not on the other one (I assume this is because of my suggestion in #3).
Please undo the wininet override by running again (on the ASUS machine) before doing the next steps:
rm -f ~/.config/
rm -rf ~/.wine-pipelight
while the browser is closed, afterwarts restart the browser and make sure that this line doesn't appear anymore:
[install-
2) Are both of your machines using the same network connection? Please check that you're using exactly the same configuration and DNS-Server. If you're using a Proxy or VPN tunnel on one of the machines the problem could also be related to that.
3) Do you have installed the same user-agent-switcher on both machines? Please note that some user agent switchers don't work properly, thats why we have listed some recommended ones in our FAQ:
https:/
4) Is the time and timezone settings of both machines (approximately) equal? A wrong timezone/time settings could result in problems with SSL, when the certificates cannot be verified correctly.
5) Do you have installed the "winbind" package on the ASUS machine?
Regards,
Sebastian

Hi Sebastian,
thanks for the quick reply.
1) you were right. i removed the file and the wine directory. the line disappeared.
2) yes. same connection, same DNS Settings, no VPN or Proxy
3) yes, same user agent overrider like proposed in the faq. btw on my t500 it works also without user agent overrider
4) yes, same timezone
5) no, dpkg --list | grep winbnd returns no results on both machines.
i tried on my t500 to use the swisscom tv application with a new created user an it did not work. so there must be thing in my homedir (i was wrong...) that enables pipelight to work with swisscom tv.
so i copied the .mozilla folder from my t500 to the asus machine - and it works!
i don't know why, but it works.
thank you for your assistance
Thomas
