Bubble mark animation test failed, also can't play movies in netflix.

Hi Alex,

I assume that there is some confusion about which plugin you want to use. Netflix and the bubbleballs demo page both require Silverlight, not Flash. If you haven't enabled Silverlight yet you should do this:

sudo pipelight-plugin --enable silverlight

Afterwards please check which other plugins you probably have enabled accidentially:

sudo pipelight-plugin --list-enabled; pipelight-plugin --list-enabled

And disable them if you don't need them, for example:

sudo pipelight-plugin --disable flash

.

If you want to use Flash: Based on the output above there is something weird going on, but the diagnostic page is not sufficient to see the error. To track down this problem further I would need the terminal output of your browser.

Please close all your browser windows, and then run (for example):

firefox &> pipelight.log

Afterwards upload the log to http://pastebin.com and write the URL here, so I can take a look at it.

Thanks Sebastian and beg a pardon for not being clear.
My goal is netflix, so first I install
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:ehoover/compholio
and
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:mqchael/pipelight
sudo apt-get update
then
sudo apt-get install pipelight-multi
So I try the silverlight balls animation test.
The test failed showing only a blank screen
Anyway I went ahead installing
sudo pipelight-plugin --enable silverlight
and
sudo pipelight-plugin --enable flash
With a negative result for netflix: Black screen
Then I made the pipelight diagnostic and everything shows okay, except the flash pluging.
The one I rewrite in the initial question.
So I remember that in other time I had conflicts with wine and crossover, (and solved desinstalling wine).
So I thought that that was the problem so I decided to:
1) Desinstall crossover and
2) Desinstall pipelight-multi (sudo apt-get purge pipelight-multi) and reinstall it again
Now the silverlight balls animation test shows me and advertise asking for install silverlight
and the pipelight diagnostic shows:

Pipelight is correctly installed, but you still need to clear the plugin cache!
Take a look at the FAQ section on how to do this.

Hi,

as you can see there is not everything okay in the diagnostic output above.

At first you should clear the plugin cache with:
sudo pipelight-plugin --create-mozilla-plugins

If it still doesn't work on Netflix afterwards (but on the Bubbleballs page it works) then its related to GPU acceleration. For testing purposes you can disable GPU acceleration by running

/usr/share/pipelight/configure-silverlight

and then typing "disable" and "abort". The changes should have an effect after the next browser restart.

If it turns out that GPU accel is the problem and you want to fix that I would probably recommend to enable it again and start your browser from a terminal, you can do this by closing all browser windows first and then typing (for example):

firefox &> pipelight.log

Afterwards take a look at the log file. If it contains an obvious error (like for example: missing 32bit graphic card drivers), then this is the reason.

It might probably also help to start firefox with:

PIPELIGHT_EMBED=0 firefox

And check if this makes any difference.

BTW: There shouldn't be any conflicts with other Wine related software. All files used by Pipelight and Wine-compholio are saved in separate directories, this allows you to continue using Crossover or Wine for your regular applications, and use Wine-Compholio just for watching Netflix.

Thanks Michael
To clear the plugin cache with:
sudo pipelight-plugin --create-mozilla-plugins
it helps in part, now the pipelight diagnostic is all okay, but still silverlight balls animation failed.
The command: PIPELIGHT_EMBED=0 firefox gave me the next:

Hi,

for some unknown reason your wine prefix seems to be corrupted.
Can you please run (as a regular user):

rm -rf ~/.wine-pipelight

and afterwards restart the browser and try again.
If it still doesn't work create a new log file please (similar to above).
