wine-compholio 1.7.8 problems - n8156 6205

Asked by Sebastian Lackner

This is not really a question, but just a remark to inform users since the corresponding bug report was already closed/fixed.

We're verry sorry, but we had some build problems when publishing wine-comholio 1.7.8 and noticed it too late, which means that some users will have downloaded our corrupted version. Since it doesn't contain all required patches especially DRM content will NOT work with this version. We have already published a fixed version.

When you run into any trouble after updating (like Netflix error n8156 6205) please first try to update again your wine-compholio packages before creating a bug report ;-) Just run:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade

The fixed version has the version number 1.7.8-1

See this bug report for more information:

Sorry for the inconvenience!

I get this problem in wine-compholio 1.7.13 aswell. Mint has wine 1.4 so I uninstalled that to be certain. I don't know what to do :'(

Hi Emmelie,

we're sorry, but there was another regression introduced with 1.7.13.

You can either wait a bit (~30 min) and afterwards update your packages again with:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
Then you should receive another update which fixes the issue.

Alternatively you can also downgrade to 1.7.12-1 as described here:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/pipelight/+bug/1283025
in answer #4.

In addition to my previous message:
If you're using Saucy, the build probably still needs a bit longer. You can see the status of all the builds here:
