Conditional Link to Extended Article in Main Article

Hello,

Is it possible to display a link to the Extended Article within the Main Article when both sections have been completed?
Therefore, on the homepage the user would see:

MAIN ARTICLE TEXT
[Link to Extended Article]

Which then takes them too:

MAIN ARTICLE TEXT
EXTENDED ARTICLE

Please note, I only want the Extended Article link to appear when this section has been completed.
Surely this is as simple as an IF statement?

This functionality is not available in phpns. I would have needed to use an actual templating system for embedded logic (like IF statements), and I decided against it, because it was too much for such a simple purpose.

If you would like to add this functionality, awesome. Otherwise, I might get around to it, but maybe not.

Can you help with this problem?
