show form validation errors in a custom theme

Hello, I am trying to show form validation errors for my custom theme but I cannot get them to show up. They work fine for the cloud theme, so I guess I am missing something? Thanks.

The Cloud theme runs a javascript method "PHPDS_documentReady()". Does your run it too?

Yeah I copied the js folder from the cloud theme to my custom theme and added the src to my page head, but still nothing.
