Does xtrabackup currently support changed pages tracking?

Asked by Marc Castrovinci

Reading the post here - http://www.mysqlperformanceblog.com/2012/10/11/announcing-percona-server-5-5-27-29-0/ it makes note that "Percona Server now supports XtraDB changed page tracking. This feature will be used for implementing faster incremental backups that use this information to avoid full data scans."

"Will be used" gives the impression that Xtrabackup currently is not able to use this feature. Does this mean I still have to wait for a future release of Xtrabackup to use this function?

Thanks,

Marc

The XtraBackup feature is currently in development and is scheduled for the next major XtraBackup release (2.1): https://blueprints.launchpad.net/percona-xtrabackup/+spec/changed-page-bmp-inc-backups
