is xtrabackup patch stable ?

Asked by Olivier Doucet

I would like to prepare my server to use xtrabackup.

I wont use this tool in production yet, but I want my mysqld binary to be already compatible.

Is the patch included in source "stable" ? Can I patch mysqld binary safely, even if I'm not using xtrabackup right now ?
I'm talking about this file for example :
http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~percona-dev/percona-xtrabackup/trunk/annotate/head%3A/fix_innodb_for_backup_percona-server-11.patch

Thank you

patch included in the xtrabackup branch is not for mysqld.
only for xtrabackup executable, xtrabackup uses mysql's source code.

Don't apply fix_innodb_for_backup_xxx.patch to mysqld!

Can you help with this problem?
