Paste with middle button

Asked by Daniel Tripp

I am a System Administrator. I NEED middle mouse button paste into terminal - I also need transparency in my terminal app.

1. Default Elementary terminal does not support paste with middle mouse button.

2. Installing Gnome - transparency option is either disabled, or when it is on - it doesn't go transparent.

P.S. This is a fresh install of the most recent Freya onto an Asus UX501JW - and this is after trying Ubuntu 15.04, 14.04.2, athergos at least 6 times - Elementary is the only O/S I've been able to get my Optimus graphics card working - and I'm impressed. Kudos to you guys, I was so happy I chipped in $25!

I filed a bug for the first one. The second one I am not sure what Gnome transparency is and what it should do but it sound like a gnome tweak and so it is likely that it is not working in elementary.
Anyway look at the gsettings org.pantheon.terminal.opacity

Middle button actually pastes the clipboard into the terminal.
About transparency, you can achieve this by installing elementary tweak tool, there's a terminal tab where you can change the opacity.

I would like to know, how did you manage to get optimus working in your notebook? :)

Can you help with this problem?
