Red pause button when changing song?

When using Banshee, and sometimes when using Guayadeque too, the play/pause button changes to a red stop button for a second or so when changing song. This is also associated (not always) with abrupt song changing in the middle of the current song (the play/pause button changes to a red stop when this happens too). What can it mean?

I know that this might not be a problem with Panflute but something is being sensed by it and that might lead me to the real problem. Thanks!

Panflute 0.6.x displays the Pause button when the current song is reported as being pausable, and the Stop button otherwise. Some players, when changing songs, don't immediately report the current pausability information, so Panflute briefly shows the Stop button instead of the Pause button.
