control multiple players

Asked by orbisvicis

If multiple players are launched, then panflute will control the first one started.

Some methods, especially Stop, would be useful to have routed to every player.

What do you think? Maybe in the applet, a configurable list of commands to be routed to every player?

Can you give a use case of why you're running more than one player at a time? I haven't considered supporting that configuration before since it seems like a very unlikely situation.

Not any really useful test cases, I simply thought it would be cool to toggle between a movie player and an audio player. For example, if/once mplayer support is added the Pause method could toggle between playing mplayer after pausing the audio player, and vice versa. That is, assuming both players are in differing states: music player paused while audio player playing.

And then the Stop method could be as sort-of panic-all-stop action.

Yeah, I agree it's a large stretch.

Can you help with this problem?
