Documentation on how to use daemon

Asked by Matias Särs

Is there any documentation how to communicate to the panflute-daemon from your own applet?

I'm toying with the idea to add start, stop buttons etc. to the popup list in dockbarx (like Windows media player has in the taskbar of windows7), and I'm wondering if panflute-daemon would be the right backend for that.

Panflute is still under heavy development so I would expect documentation to be added later on.

panflute-daemon uses MPRIS as its external interface, which is documented at http://wiki.xmms2.xmms.se/wiki/MPRIS , plus a small number of extensions which aren't documented anywhere but should be self-evident from their names. However, note that MPRIS coverage isn't 100%; the /TrackList object is mostly unimplemented, and some methods on /Player aren't implemented for all players.
