OpenUpgrade Server

What is each series for?

Hi,

This is a relatively trivial question, but I don't think I saw it in the documentation.

There are three series at the moment, Series 5.0, series 6.0, and Series 6.1.

From the documentation of Series 6.1: "This branch provides a very basic developer tool for database layout analysis, in order to support the development of upgrade scripts from OpenERP 5.0 up until 6.1. "

This sounds like Series 6.1 could be used for upgrading 5.0 to 6.0, 6.0 to 6.1 and 6.1 to 6.2. Is this correct?

Or based on the fact that all series are being maintained, it would seem that:
Series 5.0 is to upgrade 5.0 to 6.0
Series 6.0 is to upgrade 6.0 to 6.1
Series 6.1 is to upgrade 6.1 to 6.2

Each branch contains the scripts to upgrade the previous version, so to go from 5.0 to 6.0, run the scripts in the 6.0 branch. I'm currently upgrading from 5.0 to 6.1, so I have to run the scripts in the 6.0 branch and then run the scripts in the 6.1 branch.
