What is the status?

Asked by Paul J. Richardson

Thank you so much, for the impressive and noble contribution you have made by developing this program. I have two reasons for attempting to contact you. First, I would like to applaud you and wish to thank you on behalf of those for whom this application has made a huge positive impact in our lives (those with hearing difficulties).

The secondary reason is that I wish to inquire as to the status of development and potential bugs? I have not been able to get the installed version or the standalone working, even after changing compatibility of the .exe for 'all users' to XP Pro SP3, using the Admin account (again, for all users). Still, when I search for any title, even something as widely available on OpenSubs as Star Wars, then the application goes into an infinite search, and never returns any results from the query. The little window is there with the bar with green, and the text "Searching" and the 'Abort' button. The searching continues indefinitely.

I have also conducted this test with my firewall completely turned off (all ports open to the internet), and antivirus turned off too, but that did not help (there was no change).

Thank you,
Paul

Hi Paul,
I updated OpenSubdownloader with latest changes from the Subdownloader project and tried standalone version. Title search worked for me so please try again with the latest version.

Best regards,
Libor
