Featurerequest: Spacebar to stop/start play

Asked by dstotz

The convention in NLEs and video players is to use the space bar to stop or start the timeline or the play of a video clip. Openshot does not apear to do this - would be nice if it did.

Ubuntu 8.04 LTS
build wizard1.0.6
Openshot 0.9.22

Hello dstots

Many thanks for your suggestion.

Since this is a feature request rather than a bug, I am going to convert this bug report into a question.

There are a number of such feature requests which will be looked at once we get through the current phase of releasing our first beta release.

Details such as your's on conventionalising OpenShot are important to us.

Many thanks Helen McCall

I forgot to mention, I added this feature a few days ago to the source control. I don't think I've packaged up this version yet, but it's in the source code. Thanks for the feature request. It was just too easy to add... so I did. =)

Great - Thanks! I look forward to the next release... This project is looking really great, btw. I have not had the opportunity to use it really extensively, but what I've seen so far is truly easy to use and intuitive - two things not often seen in the Linux world! When you are finished with OpenShot, perhaps you'd like to take a crack at improving the GIMP's UI ? ;)

Cheers,

Helen,

No worries about the misspelling - happens all the time. This time I didn't notice until you mentioned it! :)
