Both openshot and a terminal window open

At first i wasn`t able to install but then i got it to work .... but .... when i press the openshot icon the main window opens but also a terminal window i kinda hate this .... is this because of a proble of instalation or this is normal?

when will you eliminate this :D

Good question. It's actually quite simple to remove the terminal window. It is really just there for debug reasons, since we are still in development. When we release OpenShot we plan on removing the terminal window.

This is a property of the "launcher" in Ubuntu. To change the launcher in the main menu: /Applications/Sound & Video/OpenShot, right click on the "Applications" menu item (at the top of the screen), and choose "Edit Menus". Find the "OpenShot" launcher, and choose "Properties". Change the "Type" to "Application", instead of "Application in Terminal".

I'm not sure an easy way to modify a launcher on the desktop. You might just have to create a new launcher for the desktop. The command in the launcher should be:

python /home/YOUR_USER/openshot/main/OpenShot.py

thanks it sure did answer and solved my problem .... i can`t wait for the transitions and other stuff because i realy love ubuntu... i also have windows but i`m planing to move completli to ubuntu ... but there are still things i can`t do in ubuntu or the experience is not as good as in windows your software looks nice i might be able too translate it to Romanian if you ever think of translating it(with some instructions maybe )
