Install a font for OpenShot

I need to install a specific font in order to edit videos for the church I work for. The font is installed on my computer and it shows up in every program that I use, including Inkscape, but it does not display for OpenShot. I have found some very confusing directions to do this but I can't follow them. How do I get this font installed?
