video gets stretched top to bottom when in one-shot

I had filmed a video on my Sony Cyber Shot (says 1080, FullHD). Now I want to edit it. But when I open the same file *.MTS (which runs perfectly fine in video player) in one-shot I get elongated video. I tried to change profiles but this does not seem to help.
Your help is greatly appreciated.
