Cut 5 empty minutes on the timeline

How do I cut 5 empty minutes on the timeline.
When I render, the ending video has 5 black minutes.
I'm using version 1.4.3

This NOT SOLVED my problem! I already read the full online help and there's no answer to my problem.

Do your cut and move your track until you don't have your blanck space.
